- Watercolor Stretching Boards (2-Pack) – Rigid & Waterproof: Made from 7 mm birch plywood with rounded corners and multiple layers of protective lacquer, creating a rigid, waterproof painting surface for attaching watercolor paper—far more durable and longer-lasting than foam boards.
- Board for Taping & Stretching Watercolor Paper: Attach loose paper with tape or place pre-wetted thick watercolor paper directly on the board to dry flat, reducing warping and creating a stable, rigid painting surface. Durable lacquered surface withstands repeated taping, unlike foam boards that can flex, wear, or degrade over time.
- Supports Advanced Wet-on-Wet Techniques: Waterproof surface allows controlled wetting of both sides of the paper, keeping it wet longer for extended blending and layering—unlike most foam boards, which can absorb water and don’t support consistent backside wetting.
- Strong & Compact – Suitable for Studio and Outdoors: Plywood surface sealed with multiple layers of lacquer and rounded corners provides excellent durability for both indoor and outdoor use—much stronger than foam boards. Slim 16×12″ format fits easily into backpacks.
- Part of the Pleinly Painting System: Fits inside the Pleinly 16×12″ Wet Panel Carrier for secure transport of wet paintings and attaches to the Pleinly Watercolor Easel for a complete setup—allowing a seamless workflow from studio to plein air.
- Compatible with Pleinly Cotton Papers: Works with Pleinly 100% cotton, 300 gsm, 14.2 × 10.6″ loose papers, including Hot Press, Cold Press, and Rough surfaces—designed to fit perfectly on the board, so you can start painting immediately without cutting or preparation.
- Extra Use – Paper Flattening: Press finished watercolor paintings flat between two boards under light weight (approx. 24 h). Helps restore warped paper to a smooth, flat surface after painting. For best results, lightly wet the back side when flattening.
- Also Suitable for Drawing & Mixed Media: Can be used as a support board for drawing paper. For a softer drawing feel, place additional paper sheets underneath to create light cushioning—providing a solid, versatile surface for a wide range of techniques.
